What a day.
Started off with the Santa 5k run from Darling Harbour and finishing at the beautiful Opera House.
Olivia, Conor, Cara, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Pat, Ursula, Niamh, Alannah, Daire, Oscar and Ronan all dressed in Santa and Christmas gear.
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere as we wound our way to the city. We were cheered through the finish by Jodie and all the kids.
Ursula and Alannah took a sneaky sprint on the outside line and took out the win over a fast finishing Niamh and Daire. Oscar and Ronan were just there to make up the numbers.
Mad dash with Ursula to Bondi beach for the Bondi to Bronte 2.4k swim. Frantic run through North Bondi dressed in a Santa suit. We both missed our wave starts and didn’t get a chance to catch up with Colin, Alan and Gareth before the race.
Very lucky with the conditions we got for the swim. Over 2000 swimmers for this iconic Sydney race. Unfortunately my wedding ring came off my finger as we swam in towards Bronte. Looks like Bronte beach will be its resting place!
To add to the indignation I had to run home in my speedos! Quick change and a mad dash to Sophie Sheehan’s 5th Birthday. A very happy Birthday to Sophie!
Thanks to everyone for the wonderful support. Niamh and I have been overwhelmed by everyone’s words and thoughts. Lots of great ideas coming through. Keep em coming. Look forward to sharing.
